It’s Wednesday and I know your mind is ready for that weekend coming up but until then I’ve got a ridiculously easy cocktail that will help you get you through this weak a little easier. Today I’ve got a Brandy Alexander from Mad Men for you. It was mentioned by my favorite character, Peggy Olsen, when she was on a date.
The Brandy Alexander was extremely popular in the late 60s and 70s. It’s actually a spinoff of the Alexander cocktail which contained gin instead of brandy. Now, the typical go-to recipe is three parts cream, brandy, and creme de cacao. I like my drinks a bit stronger especially with the cream so feel free to take down the amount of brandy if you please. For those who enjoy this cocktail, there are also many recipes that take the flavors from this drink and make it into a dessert.
