Congratulations San Francisco, you’ve ruined pizza! First the Hawaiians and now YOU!
ANGER, INSIDE OUT
Pixar’s Inside Out was such a highly anticipated movie this year that I knew I had to recreate something from it on this blog. Thankfully, the trailers already provided a hilarious scene when Riley goes to a pizza place with her mother in San Francisco. The scene cuts to her being handed two slices of broccoli pizza on a white paper plate. Anger shakes his fist and says, “Congratulations San Francisco, you’ve ruined pizza! First the Hawaiians and now YOU!”. I personally love broccoli pizza and I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I did. Enjoy!
Pixar’s Inside Out: Broccoli Pizza
yield: 1-12″ pizza prep time: 30 minutes total time:2 hours
ingredients:
- 250g bread flour
- 1t granulated sugar
- 4g yeast
- 2t salt
- 3/4 cup 110F water
- 1T olive oil
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan
- 4-5 slices of provolone
- 1/2 of a head of broccoli, cleaned
- salt and pepper
- In a bowl, combine your bread flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Mix to combine. Add your 110F water and olive oil. Mix and knead with your hand until it forms a ball of dough. You can either do this process by hand or in a stand mixer. Place the dough into a lightly greased bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Leave this is a warm area and let it rise for one hour.
- Preheat the oven to 425F
- Take the broccoli and cut it into small florets. Toss the broccoli in a bit of oil and salt and pepper. After an hour, take the dough and place it on a lightly floured surface. Punch down lightly and start to roll it out with a rolling pin. Transfer the round to a sheet pan or pizza pan. Spread the parmesan, then the mozzarella, and then the provolone. Top with broccoli florets and lightly season with salt and pepper. Bake the pizza for approximately 15 minutes until golden.
