You know the holidays are coming when the Charlie Brown holiday episodes start to air on television. So, when I was brainstorming on which Thanksgiving feast I wanted to to take on this year, I immediately wanted to create the Thanksgiving feast Snoopy prepared for his friends. If you’re interested in incorporating this theme to your thanksgiving, serve these components as a side or starter when guests arrive. It’s really easy to put together so you can focus on the main courses.
The components of Snoopy’s Thanksgiving are,
- jelly beans
- sliced bread
- popcorn
- pretzels
There were drinks that were served that they didn’t describe but I have a recipe for a drink I think everyone will love on Thanksgiving.
A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving: Apple Pie Milkshakes
Ingredients:
- 2 – small granny smith apples, peeled, cored, and large diced
- 2oz / 1/4 cup – brown sugar
- 1 tsp – cinnamon
- pinch of nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp – salt
- 2 cups – vanilla ice cream
- 1/4 cup – milk
- crushed pie crust, optional
- 1/2 cup – heavy cream, cold
- 1 tsp – granulated sugar
- maraschino cherries, to garnish
Directions:
- Combine the diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir to combine and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes until the apples are soft. Set aside to cool.
- Combine all ingredients in a blender and process until smooth. If you prefer it slightly chunky, make sure to blend it less. Fold in crushed pie crust before serving.
- In an electric mixer with a whisk attachment, whisk the heavy cream and sugar until soft peak. Garnish each glass with whip cream and a cherry.
