I had so much fun creating the Oscars food series earlier this year that I decided to do that same for the Emmys. It’s going to be a bit difficult since I haven’t had the time to watch all of the television shows but I’ll do my best to create some great recipes that would be perfect to make on the night of the Emmy Awards. I’ll be posting recipes leading up to the night of the Emmys so keep an eye out for those!
Mr. Robot is nominated for six categories this year and if you’ve seen my previous posts, I love Mr. Robot. I had the chance to see the cast in San Diego Comic Con and I’m so happy to hear that the show is so well received. Here is a recipe for Coney Island hot dogs that is inspired by Mr. Robot but there actually isn’t a scene or mention of these hot dogs but I felt it was quite appropriate since F Society is located on Coney Island. It’s also perfect for a crowd if you’re having people over for a viewing because it’s so easy to make a big batch of. I’ve never been to Coney Island before and to be honest, was never on my list of places to visit, but it’s quickly become one place that I’m dying to visit because of the show.
The origin story of these hot dogs are unclear as there are a few stories as to how these came to be. If you’re interested in reading up more on the history of the Coney Island hot dogs, I found this link most informative.
