WILLIAM: One more stop. I need an egg cream.
RANDALL: What’s that now?
WILLIAM: It’s a soda with milk in it. Fox’s chocolate syrup. It’s got to have Fox’s chocolate syrup.
THIS IS US, THREE SENTENCES
RANDALL: Uh, we just went to three different diners looking for your perfect egg cream. One had Hershey’s syrup instead of Fox’s. The other one didn’t have any to-go cups.
WILLIAM: Sounds like a recap, not a question.
RANDALL: My question is why, after we finally found your perfect egg cream that passed your egg cream litmus test, why, William why are you not drinking it
WILLIAM: It’s not the right time yet.
THIS IS US, THREE SENTENCES
It’s been a busy few weeks thanks to all the planning and packing for my vacation to Taiwan! I am a true hobbit as it comes to how I live my life. I’m a homebody and I really appreciate all the comforts of home. That being said, this will be my first time visiting Taiwan! I’m so exited to discover the city and all the food it has to offer. As you can already tell, the blog will take a slight hit because of this and I won’t be able to post as often as I would like on the blog and on instagram/twitter.
One of the hottest shows this year is, This Is Us, starring Milo Ventimiglia, Mandy Moore, Sterling K. Brown, Chrissy Metz, and Justin Hartley. My favorite character in the show is William Hill, played by Ron Cephas Jones. In the episode, Three Sentences, William requests for an egg cream made with Fox’s chocolate syrup and here is my version of the classic drink inspired by that episode.
This Is Us: William Hill's Egg Cream
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp Fox's u-bet Chocolate syrup
- 2 oz whole milk
- 4 oz seltzer water, cold
Instructions
- In a tall glass, add the chocolate and milk and stir together with a long spoon until well combined. Slowly add the cold seltzer water to fill the glass and a nice thick foam forms on the top of the glass.
