The movie, Phantom Thread, is a food lover’s dream. The film is nominated for a total of six Academy Awards and while it was a great movie, there were two fantastic food scenes in the movie that I can’t get out of my mind. This wild mushroom omelet comes from the movie’s most shocking scene. I won’t spoil anything but if you’ve seen the movie, you will know exactly what I mean.
In the scene, Alma slices up mushrooms she has foraged in the forest earlier in the day. She slices up the mushrooms and sautés it in a generous amount of butter until lightly golden brown. She seasons it with salt and add another pad of butter before pouring in the whisked egg. The omelet is finally garnished with a sprinkling of minced chives. Please enjoy.
