One of the best perks about living in San Francisco is the access to such wonderful diverse foods. There is an amazing African restaurant I live near that I use to always go to with my friends back in high school. I haven’t been back in a few years but after making this recipe I’ve been getting the most intense cravings to go back for another meal.
This recipe for sukuma wiki and ugali is inspired by the Netflix series, Sense8. Sukuma wiki is a traditional African dish consisting of kale or collard greens, spices, tomatoes, and sometimes meat. The following recipe comes from The Kitchn. You can adjust the recipe really any way you want but it’s really wonderful paired with ugali. Please enjoy.
CAPHEUS: I can’t remember the last time I smelled your sukuma wiki and ugali.
SHIRO: Ah. I’m feeling much better.
CAPHEUS: But you are far too thin. It makes my heart sing to see you cooking again.
