The Hobbit: Elrond's Feast - Garden Herb Flatbread yield: 6 prep time: 15 minutes total time: 2 hours
Ingredients
- 7 g - active dry yeast
- 1 tbsp - olive oil
- 1 1/2 cup - all purpose flour
- 1 tsp - salt
- 3/4 cup - water 110F
- 1 tbsp - fresh thyme chopped
- 1 tbsp - fresh rosemary chopped
Instructions
- Combine yeast and warm water and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. Add flour, olive oil, salt, thyme, and rosemary. Mix until combined.
- Knead for 3 minutes until smooth. Place the dough into a lightly oiled bowl and cover. Let it proof for 1 hour or until double in size.
- Pace the dough on a lightly floured surface and cut it into 6 equal size pieces. Roll each piece out with a rolling pin.
- At this point, you can grill or cook the dough on a skillet with a bit of oil until golden on both sides.
It was a nice dish for celtic Lammas holiday (august, 1), there is a tradition that this day a handmade bread should be done) I’m going to go camping next week, I’ll definitely take them too)
